Kiel Nano, Surface and Interface Science (KiNSIS)

Portrait

»In my opinion, modern toxicology is research on molecular causes of harmful substances induced diseases and understanding them in context of individual lifestyles and genetic predisposition. Within KiNSIS, we test newly developed materials in suitable biological systems on their biocompatibility and biosecurity, before they get to be tested on humans.«

Edmund Maser. Since 2002 professor for Toxicology and Pharmacology at Kiel University. Before that professor at the Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology at Marburg University. Born in Hessen (Dorla). 1990 PhD, 1995 habilitation.
