»Order always plays a role in systems, when the particles’ energy of interaction equals or exceeds their kinetic energy. In such systems with strong coupling the system reacts collectively on external influences and various new physical processes can be observed. For several years now, I have been tackling the challenge to investigate these processes experimentally in the field of complex plasmas.«

Dietmar Block. Outside lecturer at Kiel University since 2008. Doctoral degree in 2002, habilitation in 2008.
