Portrait

»One of my main tasks in clinical care is the examination and therapy with the cardiac catheter. While we have had to use the artery in the groin to get to the heart with the catheter, we can access it now over the hand. This is way gentler. When it comes to research, I investigate genetic causes for heart diseases and new approaches for gene and stem cell therapies of the heart.»

Norbert Frey. Professor for Cardiology at Kiel University since 2008. Director of the Clinic for Cardiology and Angiology at the Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH). Before senior physician at Heidelberg University Hospital. Born in Braunschweig/Germany. Doctoral degree in 1993, habilitation 2005 at Heidelberg University.
