»My research group focuses on the chemical synthesis of (nano) materials and their atomic structure. We apply and develop state of the art methods of nano analytics like electron microscopy, radiography and spectroscopy. One of our goals is to determine connections between the physical properties and the (nano) structures of functional materials.«

Lorenz Kienle. Since 2008 professor for Synthesis and Realstructure (Heisenberg professor) and head of the TEM Centre at Kiel University. Prior to that head of the “electron microscopy” group at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Stuttgart. Born in Stuttgart. 1998 PhD at Siegen University, 2004 habilitation at  the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research.
