»Supramolecular chemistry is chemistry beyond the molecule. We use intermolecular forces to build new structures through selforganisation, e.g. branched dendrimers. Further applications comprise molecular detection, transport and switching. Additionally to supramolecular bonding we apply reversible covalent chemistry.«

Ulrich Lüning. Since 1994 professor for Organic Chemistry at the Otto-Diels-Institute at Kiel University. Before that assistant lecturer at the Institute for Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at Freiburg University. 1991 habilitation in Freiburg, 1984 PhD at Technische Hochschule Darmstadt. Author of the textbook “Organische Reaktionen – eine Einführung in Reaktionswege und Mechanismen“.
