Portrait

»The nanoelectronics group investigates future information processing. Novel nanoelectronic components and systems, which go far beyond the current state of the art, are at the centre of our attention. We want to understand solid state interfaces and to create new electronic components and systems. Future applications of our research are neuronal circuit architecture and sensor technology.«

Hermann Kohlstedt. Since 2009 professor for Nanoelectronics at Kiel University. Before that head of a research group at the Forschungszentrum Jülich. Born in Eichenberg close to Göttingen. 1989 PhD at Institut de Radioastronomie Milimètrique (IRAM) in Grenoble, France. 2000 habilitation at Cologne University. International research stays: Institut de Radioastronomie Milimètrique (IRAM) in Grenoble, France (1986-1990), Advantest Laboratories, Sapporo, Japan, (1990-1991), UC Berkeley, Department of Materials Science and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory/Advanced Light Source, Berkeley, USA, (2005-2006).
