KiNSIS Young Academy

SymbolbildSupporting Doctoral researchers from the nano and the surface sciences and fostering exchange is the aim of the KiNSIS Young Academy. The activities are created and implemented also by doctoral researchers to encourage 

  • Networking between doctoral researchers from chemistry, electrical engineering, life science, materials science, physics
  • Finding cooperation partners for your own research topic
  • Developing support programmes according to personal needs
  • Establishing regular exchange formats you really like to attend
  • Providing practical experience for your academic careers
  • taking first steps in science management
  • learning what is happening in other areas of KiNSIS

 

Target group:

  • doctoral researchers
  • master's students who are interested in doing a doctorate
  • Post Docs, approx. two years after their doctoral thesis
  • ... just ask or have a look!

 

KiNSIS-Young Academy OLAT-Gruppe:

A group "KiNSIS Young Academy" has been set up on the OLAT platform with five discussion forums: Science, Events, Diversity, OLAT and Off-Topic. Register at https://lms.uni-kiel.de/url/RepositoryEntry/3972988932 to join the discussion, propose your own ideas, participate in the organising team and receive news by e-mail.

  • 09.07.2021: KiNSIS Young Academy Day, Audimax
    Getting to know other doctoral researchers by pitching current topics to a broader audience for possible collaboration and external insight *** Deadline for Application: 25.06.2021 ***
  • 03.04.2021: Talk by Marion Knaths, sheboss: "The two sides of the glass ceiling"
    Learn more about stereotypes and the rules of the game of gender specific communication in a humorous and descriptive way and how you can successfully use this knowledge for your own position and the organization.
  • 01.06.2021: Online movie “Picture a Scientist” and panel discussion
    In “Picture a Scientist” a female biologist, a chemist and a geologist take on these questions and take the audience on a journey through the experiences of their academic careers - as women of science.
  • Sommer semester 2021: Course “Scientific Writing in English” for Bachelor's and Master's students in chemistry will be opened to doctoral students from the areas of KiNSIS
  • Starting April 9: KiNSIS Young Academy Lunch 'n' Meet
    Get to know each other, exchange ideas without having to present anything: every first friday of the month, 12.00-13.00, the doctoral researchers invite you to lunch together on the spatial.chat platform (no registration required), where you can video chat and wander between different virtual tables - at least virtually. You will find the link in the KiNSIS-Young Academy OLAT group.
