«Our working group investigates classical and quantum many-particle systems from dense and dusty plasmas up to atoms, molecules and strong correlated solid bodies. The core issues are collective behavior, classical and quantum correlation in the equilibrium and disequilibrium. Analytical methods as well as computer simulations (molecular dynamics, multiscale simulation, path integral-quantum-Monte Carlo, disequilibrium-Greenfunctions, etc.) help us to understand the thermodynamic properties, transport, photoionization and ultrafast processes.»

Michael Bonitz. Professor for Theoretical Physics und Chair of Statistical Physics at Kiel University since 2003. Before scientific assistant  at the University of Rostock, postdoc at the University of Arizona, Tucson/USA. Visiting professor at the University of Florida, Gainesville/USA. 1991 doctoral degree at the University of Rostock, habilitation 1998.
